HAYES There have been ░░░░░░░░ Hakeem Jeffries was on ░░░░░░░░ program last night talking ░░░░░░░░ his family member receiving ░░░░░░░░ saying We re coming ░░░░░░░░ you we re outside ░░░░░░░░ house How do you ░░░░░░░░ the nature of the ░░░░░░░░ of the Republican Party ░░░░░░░░ you serve with right ░░░░░░░░ in the aftermath of ░░░░░░░░ and the vote they ░░░░░░░░ to overturn the election ░░░░░░░░ this desire to quote ░░░░░░░░ the page Ocasio Cortez ░░░░░░░░ you know I actually ░░░░░░░░ a profound difference between ░░░░░░░░ Republican caucus of last ░░░░░░░░ the 115th Congress and ░░░░░░░░ Republican caucus that of ░░░░░░░░ term that we are ░░░░░░░░ what a few weeks ░░░░░░░░ at this point And ░░░░░░░░ difference was that it ░░░░░░░░ felt that last term ░░░░░░░░ Republican caucus was one ░░░░░░░░ extreme fealty to Donald ░░░░░░░░ There were some that ░░░░░░░░ true believers others that ░░░░░░░░ remained quiet out of ░░░░░░░░ and out of fear ░░░░░░░░ the president s retribution ░░░░░░░░ this term there are ░░░░░░░░ white supremacist sympathizers that ░░░░░░░░ at the heart and ░░░░░░░░ the core of the ░░░░░░░░ caucus in the House ░░░░░░░░ Representatives And when you ░░░░░░░░ someone like the House ░░░░░░░░ leader Kevin McCarthy of ░░░░░░░░ Republican Party respond to ░░░░░░░░ supremacist vitriol coming from ░░░░░░░░ own members not with ░░░░░░░░ like they did with ░░░░░░░░ Steve King of Iowa ░░░░░░░░ with you know being ░░░░░░░░ of committees not with ░░░░░░░░ consequence you have to ░░░░░░░░ where who actually has ░░░░░░░░ power And it increasingly ░░░░░░░░ unfortunately that in the ░░░░░░░░ Republican caucus Kevin McCarthy ░░░░░░░░ to these QAnon members ░░░░░░░░ Congress not the other ░░░░░░░░ around And that is ░░░░░░░░ that frankly needs to ░░░░░░░░ said You know he ░░░░░░░░ he was going to ░░░░░░░░ representative Marjorie Taylor Greene ░░░░░░░░ after you know her ░░░░░░░░ to Parkland activists and ░░░░░░░░ saying that Muslim Americans ░░░░░░░░ not fully and freely ░░░░░░░░ in the House that ░░░░░░░░ must be forced to ░░░░░░░░ on a Bible et ░░░░░░░░ But I ve seen ░░░░░░░░ McCarthy pull someone aside ░░░░░░░░ for a talking to ░░░░░░░░ that representative that I ░░░░░░░░ saw him do that ░░░░░░░░ was Rep Ted Yoho ░░░░░░░░ Florida And what Kevin ░░░░░░░░ did was that he ░░░░░░░░ him aside to essentially ░░░░░░░░ his behavior to allow ░░░░░░░░ and to abet it ░░░░░░░░ actually Kevin McCarthy s ░░░░░░░░ of holding his own ░░░░░░░░ accountable is one major ░░░░░░░░ why I went to ░░░░░░░░ floor last year to ░░░░░░░░ Yoho accountable myself And ░░░░░░░░ when I hear that ░░░░░░░░ McCarthy is going to ░░░░░░░░ a member aside who ░░░░░░░░ made white supremacist sympathizing ░░░░░░░░ the thing that I ░░░░░░░░ is What is he ░░░░░░░░ to tell them Keep ░░░░░░░░ up Because there are ░░░░░░░░ consequence in the Republican ░░░░░░░░ for violence There are ░░░░░░░░ consequence for racism No ░░░░░░░░ for misogyny No consequences ░░░░░░░░ insurrection And no consequences ░░░░░░░░ that they condone it ░░░░░░░░ means that that silence ░░░░░░░░ acceptance and they want ░░░░░░░░ because they know that ░░░░░░░░ is a core animating ░░░░░░░░ energy for them And ░░░░░░░░ is extremely dangerous an ░░░░░░░░ dangerous threshold that we ░░░░░░░░ crossed because we are ░░░░░░░░ away from acting out ░░░░░░░░ fealty to their president ░░░░░░░░ they had in the ░░░░░░░░ Office and now we ░░░░░░░░ talking about fealty to ░░░░░░░░ supremacist organizations as a ░░░░░░░░ tool And for you ░░░░░░░░ Republicans that are in ░░░░░░░░ caucus that are unwilling ░░░░░░░░ hold that accountable or ░░░░░░░░ distance themselves from it ░░░░░░░░ really really need to ░░░░░░░░ ourselves what they are ░░░░░░░░ into HAYES Yeah Ocasio ░░░░░░░░ Because this is no ░░░░░░░░ about a party of ░░░░░░░░ government This is about ░░░░░░░░ much more nefarious HAYES ░░░░░░░░ Ocasio Cortez Democrat from ░░░░░░░░ York City who represents ░░░░░░░░ part my home borough ░░░░░░░░ The Bronx It s ░░░░░░░░ good to have you ░░░░░░░░ Thank you so much ░░░░░░░░ Ocasio Cortez Of course ░░░░░░░░ you.”
