Obama: People Who Read Ayn Rand ‘Think Everybody Is a Moocher’

“I think that we ░░░░░░░░ at a moment in ░░░░░░░░ because of what s ░░░░░░░░ in Baltimore and Ferguson ░░░░░░░░ other places but in ░░░░░░░░ because a growing awareness ░░░░░░░░ inequality in our society ░░░░░░░░ it may be possible ░░░░░░░░ only to refocus attention ░░░░░░░░ the issue of poverty ░░░░░░░░ also maybe to bridge ░░░░░░░░ of the gaps that ░░░░░░░░ existed and the ideological ░░░░░░░░ that have prevented us ░░░░░░░░ making progress And there ░░░░░░░░ a lot of folks ░░░░░░░░ who I have worked ░░░░░░░░ they disagree with me ░░░░░░░░ some issues but they ░░░░░░░░ great sincerity when it ░░░░░░░░ to wanting to deal ░░░░░░░░ helping the least of ░░░░░░░░ And so this is ░░░░░░░░ wonderful occasion for us ░░░░░░░░ join together Part of ░░░░░░░░ reason I thought this ░░░░░░░░ would be useful and ░░░░░░░░ wanted to have a ░░░░░░░░ with Bob and Arthur ░░░░░░░░ that we have been ░░░░░░░░ I think for a ░░░░░░░░ time in a debate ░░░░░░░░ creates a couple of ░░░░░░░░ men The stereotype is ░░░░░░░░ you ve got folks ░░░░░░░░ the left who just ░░░░░░░░ to pour more money ░░░░░░░░ social programs and don ░░░░░░░░ care anything about culture ░░░░░░░░ parenting or family structures ░░░░░░░░ that s one stereotype ░░░░░░░░ then you ve got ░░░░░░░░ hearted free market capitalist ░░░░░░░░ who are reading Ayn ░░░░░░░░ and laughter think everybody ░░░░░░░░ moochers And I think ░░░░░░░░ truth is more complicated ░░░░░░░░ think that there are ░░░░░░░░ on the conservative spectrum ░░░░░░░░ deeply care about the ░░░░░░░░ of these deeply care ░░░░░░░░ the poor exhibit that ░░░░░░░░ their churches through community ░░░░░░░░ through philanthropic efforts but ░░░░░░░░ suspicious of what government ░░░░░░░░ do And then there ░░░░░░░░ those on the left ░░░░░░░░ I think are in ░░░░░░░░ trenches every day and ░░░░░░░░ how important parenting is ░░░░░░░░ how important family structures ░░░░░░░░ and the connective tissue ░░░░░░░░ holds communities together and ░░░░░░░░ that that contributes to ░░░░░░░░ when those structures fray ░░░░░░░░ also believe that government ░░░░░░░░ resources can make a ░░░░░░░░ in creating an environment ░░░░░░░░ which young people can ░░░░░░░░ despite great odds.”
