TAPPER While many Republicans ░░░░░░░░ silent on President Trump ░░░░░░░░ summit with Vladimir Putin ░░░░░░░░ of the most powerful ░░░░░░░░ came from a dying ░░░░░░░░ John McCain who slammed ░░░░░░░░ Trump s inability to ░░░░░░░░ up to Putin as ░░░░░░░░ tragic mistake Joining me ░░░░░░░░ is congressman Adam Schiff ░░░░░░░░ California Congressman I know ░░░░░░░░ traveled a great deal ░░░░░░░░ Senator McCain I know ░░░░░░░░ knew him And also ░░░░░░░░ one point last year ░░░░░░░░ said that you were ░░░░░░░░ because you thought there ░░░░░░░░ be more John McCains ░░░░░░░░ Congress What did you ░░░░░░░░ by that and did ░░░░░░░░ ever discuss that with ░░░░░░░░ SCHIFF Well he was ░░░░░░░░ a great example of ░░░░░░░░ and courage and dedication ░░░░░░░░ our democracy that I ░░░░░░░░ have thought any number ░░░░░░░░ House Republicans in particular ░░░░░░░░ have followed his example ░░░░░░░░ I raised this with ░░░░░░░░ once we were appearing ░░░░░░░░ on a panel and ░░░░░░░░ we went on I ░░░░░░░░ to him how much ░░░░░░░░ admired him and how ░░░░░░░░ I was that there ░░░░░░░░ t seem to be ░░░░░░░░ single Republican in the ░░░░░░░░ who felt they had ░░░░░░░░ constituency to be the ░░░░░░░░ McCain of the House ░░░░░░░░ he looked at me ░░░░░░░░ he said well if ░░░░░░░░ isn t they will ░░░░░░░░ calling you Chairman And ░░░░░░░░ was a classic kind ░░░░░░░░ blunt John McCain comment ░░░░░░░░ one of the reasons ░░░░░░░░ I think he won ░░░░░░░░ people on both sides ░░░░░░░░ the aisle with his ░░░░░░░░ with his candor but ░░░░░░░░ with his sense of ░░░░░░░░ I have to tell ░░░░░░░░ that was one thing ░░░░░░░░ didn t really appreciate ░░░░░░░░ Senator McCain until I ░░░░░░░░ with him is just ░░░░░░░░ funny he is He ░░░░░░░░ to introduce by saying ░░░░░░░░ is Adam Schiff he ░░░░░░░░ a good guy who ░░░░░░░░ things right about zero ░░░░░░░░ of the time Even ░░░░░░░░ Graham who he loved ░░░░░░░░ than anyone else in ░░░░░░░░ Congress used to introduce ░░░░░░░░ saying this is Lindsey ░░░░░░░░ everyone knows Lindsey few ░░░░░░░░ like him That was ░░░░░░░░ kind of way John ░░░░░░░░ introduce you and you ░░░░░░░░ it was just an ░░░░░░░░ to be in his ░░░░░░░░ and to watch the ░░░░░░░░ of respect world leaders ░░░░░░░░ for him to watch ░░░░░░░░ way he struck up ░░░░░░░░ an easy relationship demeanor ░░░░░░░░ others It was a ░░░░░░░░ to be around him.”
