[excerpt EARHARDT Congressman you ░░░░░░░░ the best guest to ░░░░░░░░ on this morning because ░░░░░░░░ have a lot of ░░░░░░░░ stories that you are ░░░░░░░░ with you there to ░░░░░░░░ Hill Tell us about ░░░░░░░░ daughter and your dad ░░░░░░░░ your background in insurance ░░░░░░░░ Well I think it ░░░░░░░░ the personal side that ░░░░░░░░ influenced me the most ░░░░░░░░ insurance side helped me ░░░░░░░░ think through some solutions ░░░░░░░░ watched my dad my ░░░░░░░░ life work three jobs ░░░░░░░░ pay off medical bills ░░░░░░░░ I lost my mom ░░░░░░░░ I was 4 And ░░░░░░░░ didn t have insurance ░░░░░░░░ I know what that ░░░░░░░░ like because I have ░░░░░░░░ it firsthand I don ░░░░░░░░ want any American to ░░░░░░░░ to endure the lack ░░░░░░░░ insurance And then fast ░░░░░░░░ to my young days ░░░░░░░░ a father our daughter ░░░░░░░░ first daughter was born ░░░░░░░░ very complicated medical issues ░░░░░░░░ lot of surgeries And ░░░░░░░░ only lived 11 years ░░░░░░░░ totally changed our life ░░░░░░░░ you know in addition ░░░░░░░░ the emotional devastation of ░░░░░░░░ a child we had ░░░░░░░░ a million dollars worth ░░░░░░░░ medical bills And I ░░░░░░░░ insurance I had insurance ░░░░░░░░ a lot of things ░░░░░░░░ t get covered We ░░░░░░░░ t have much money ░░░░░░░░ those days And so ░░░░░░░░ is important to me ░░░░░░░░ know there is a ░░░░░░░░ of fear in America ░░░░░░░░ me yesterday shouldn t ░░░░░░░░ a day about cheering ░░░░░░░░ jeering We have to ░░░░░░░░ sober about this Americans ░░░░░░░░ afraid And we need ░░░░░░░░ help them understand that ░░░░░░░░ we re doing here ░░░░░░░░ trying to first save ░░░░░░░░ part of the insurance ░░░░░░░░ that is really collapsing ░░░░░░░░ and our commitment is ░░░░░░░░ people with preexisting conditions ░░░░░░░░ be covered But we ░░░░░░░░ doing it differently than ░░░░░░░░ Affordable Care Act and ░░░░░░░░ it in a way ░░░░░░░░ doesn t put that ░░░░░░░░ on every other policy ░░░░░░░░ to the point where ░░░░░░░░ can t afford insurance ░░░░░░░░ Congressman you clearly have ░░░░░░░░ heart for this issue ░░░░░░░░ just wish some folks ░░░░░░░░ the aisle would reach ░░░░░░░░ and help a little ░░░░░░░░ more Not the case ░░░░░░░░ still got it across ░░░░░░░░ finish line Congressman Toms ░░░░░░░░ thanks for joining us ░░░░░░░░ morning.”
