DNC Candidate: ‘My Job Is To Shut Other White People Down’ for Opposing BlackLivesMatter

“And it makes me ░░░░░░░░ that we re even ░░░░░░░░ that conversation and that ░░░░░░░░ me that white leaders ░░░░░░░░ our party have failed ░░░░░░░░ have to accept that ░░░░░░░░ is prejudice that exists ░░░░░░░░ our own party and ░░░░░░░░ have to be able ░░░░░░░░ have a conversation We ░░░░░░░░ sweep it under the ░░░░░░░░ we cannot continue to ░░░░░░░░ it We cannot smash ░░░░░░░░ down when they are ░░░░░░░░ to scream Listen to ░░░░░░░░ you don t get ░░░░░░░░ I m a white ░░░░░░░░ I don t get ░░░░░░░░ I am pleased and ░░░░░░░░ to be here today ░░░░░░░░ have the conversation I ░░░░░░░░ so excited that we ░░░░░░░░ here And I am ░░░░░░░░ Because that s my ░░░░░░░░ My job is to ░░░░░░░░ to the issues My ░░░░░░░░ is to listen and ░░░░░░░░ a voice and my ░░░░░░░░ is to shut other ░░░░░░░░ people down when they ░░░░░░░░ to interrupt My job ░░░░░░░░ to shut other white ░░░░░░░░ down when they want ░░░░░░░░ say Oh no I ░░░░░░░░ not prejudiced I m ░░░░░░░░ Democrat and I m ░░░░░░░░ My job is to ░░░░░░░░ sure that they get ░░░░░░░░ they have privilege And ░░░░░░░░ we shut our mouths ░░░░░░░░ we listen to those ░░░░░░░░ who don t and ░░░░░░░░ lift our people up ░░░░░░░░ that we all have ░░░░░░░░ in this country so ░░░░░░░░ we re all fighting ░░░░░░░░ each other so that ░░░░░░░░ are all on the ░░░░░░░░ page and we clearly ░░░░░░░░ where we re going ░░░░░░░░ re not going to ░░░░░░░░ this This is not ░░░░░░░░ rhetoric This is life ░░░░░░░░ death This moment in ░░░░░░░░ country the Democratic Party ░░░░░░░░ the opportunity to do ░░░░░░░░ different We have the ░░░░░░░░ to really confront the ░░░░░░░░ that we have not ░░░░░░░░ in alignment with our ░░░░░░░░ We ve been talking ░░░░░░░░ lot of smack We ░░░░░░░░ to make sure that ░░░░░░░░ actions and our words ░░░░░░░░ our values all match ░░░░░░░░ around the issue of ░░░░░░░░ we are so far ░░░░░░░░ of alignment I don ░░░░░░░░ even know the way ░░░░░░░░ but I am listening ░░░░░░░░ I am asking and ░░░░░░░░ am talking to people ░░░░░░░░ am talking to people ░░░░░░░░ color because you have ░░░░░░░░ answers you can tell ░░░░░░░░ as a leader what ░░░░░░░░ need to do and ░░░░░░░░ s exactly what I ░░░░░░░░ going to do is ░░░░░░░░ to have those conversations ░░░░░░░░ continue to talk to ░░░░░░░░ and make sure that ░░░░░░░░ single system in our ░░░░░░░░ is designed to give ░░░░░░░░ back to the people ░░░░░░░░ people but especially those ░░░░░░░░ who have been disenfranchised ░░░░░░░░ our country since our ░░░░░░░░ started So please please ░░░░░░░░ please this is a ░░░░░░░░ I want to have ░░░░░░░░ I am from Idaho ░░░░░░░░ are so white Laughter ░░░░░░░░ white Right I have ░░░░░░░░ reaching out and trying ░░░░░░░░ connect to anybody of ░░░░░░░░ that I can find ░░░░░░░░ be honest with me ░░░░░░░░ I am not a ░░░░░░░░ I am a human ░░░░░░░░ trying to do good ░░░░░░░░ and I can t ░░░░░░░░ it without y all ░░░░░░░░ please please please get ░░░░░░░░ of me Sally at ░░░░░░░░ org I need schooling ░░░░░░░░ I depend on you ░░░░░░░░ the people around our ░░░░░░░░ to do that so ░░░░░░░░ I can go school ░░░░░░░░ other white people.”
