Obama: ObamaCare Delay Simply an ‘Adjustment’; We Don’t Want to ‘Punish Folks’

you know the announcement ░░░░░░░░ was fairly straight forward ░░░░░░░░ overwhelming majority of firms ░░░░░░░░ this country already provide ░░░░░░░░ insurance to their employees ░░░░░░░░ doing the right thing ░░░░░░░░ small percentage that do ░░░░░░░░ many of them are ░░░░░░░░ small and are already ░░░░░░░░ by law so you ░░░░░░░░ just this small category ░░░░░░░░ folks who don t ░░░░░░░░ health insurance weren t ░░░░░░░░ by law they are ░░░░░░░░ to make sure that ░░░░░░░░ meet their responsibilities so ░░░░░░░░ their employees aren t ░░░░░░░░ to the emergency room ░░░░░░░░ up everybody s else ░░░░░░░░ costs and the employers ░░░░░░░░ up not having any ░░░░░░░░ for that what we ░░░░░░░░ yesterday was simply to ░░░░░░░░ an adjustment in terms ░░░░░░░░ their compliance because for ░░░░░░░░ of these companies just ░░░░░░░░ of complying yeah they ░░░░░░░░ mid size between 50 ░░░░░░░░ 100 folks it may ░░░░░░░░ them some time even ░░░░░░░░ they re operating in ░░░░░░░░ faith and we want ░░░░░░░░ make sure that the ░░░░░░░░ of the law is ░░░░░░░░ to punish them it ░░░░░░░░ simply to make sure ░░░░░░░░ they are either providing ░░░░░░░░ insurance to their employees ░░░░░░░░ that they re helping ░░░░░░░░ bear the costs of ░░░░░░░░ employees getting health insurance ░░░░░░░░ that s consistent actually ░░░░░░░░ what we have done ░░░░░░░░ the individual mandate the ░░░░░░░░ majority of Americans want ░░░░░░░░ insurance many of them ░░░░░░░░ t afford it we ░░░░░░░░ them tax credits but ░░░░░░░░ with the tax credits ░░░░░░░░ in some cases they ░░░░░░░░ can t afford it ░░░░░░░░ we have hardship exemptions ░░░░░░░░ ins to make sure ░░░░░░░░ nobody is unnecessarily burdened ░░░░░░░░ s not the goal ░░░░░░░░ goal is to make ░░░░░░░░ that folks are healthy ░░░░░░░░ have decent health care ░░░░░░░░ so this was a ░░░░░░░░ of administratively us making ░░░░░░░░ that we re smoothing ░░░░░░░░ this transition giving people ░░░░░░░░ opportunities to get right ░░░░░░░░ the law but recognizing ░░░░░░░░ they re going to ░░░░░░░░ circumstances in which people ░░░░░░░░ trying to do the ░░░░░░░░ thing and it may ░░░░░░░░ time our goal here ░░░░░░░░ not to punish folks ░░░░░░░░ goal is to make ░░░░░░░░ that we ve got ░░░░░░░░ who can count on ░░░░░░░░ financial security that health ░░░░░░░░ provides and where we ░░░░░░░░ got companies that want ░░░░░░░░ do the right thing ░░░░░░░░ trying to work with ░░░░░░░░ we want to make ░░░░░░░░ that we re working ░░░░░░░░ them as well and ░░░░░░░░ s going to be ░░░░░░░░ attitude about you know ░░░░░░░░ law generally how do ░░░░░░░░ make it work for ░░░░░░░░ American people and for ░░░░░░░░
