Obama: ‘We’ve Got To Build an Economy that Works for Everyone, Not Just a Fortunate Few’

Hi everybody In my ░░░░░░░░ of the Union Address ░░░░░░░░ talked about the idea ░░░░░░░░ opportunity for all Opportunity ░░░░░░░░ the idea at the ░░░░░░░░ of this country that ░░░░░░░░ matter who you are ░░░░░░░░ how you started out ░░░░░░░░ hard work and responsibility ░░░░░░░░ can get ahead I ░░░░░░░░ for President to restore ░░░░░░░░ idea and I m ░░░░░░░░ more passionate about it ░░░░░░░░ Because while our economy ░░░░░░░░ been growing for four ░░░░░░░░ and those at the ░░░░░░░░ are doing better than ░░░░░░░░ average wages have barely ░░░░░░░░ Too many Americans are ░░░░░░░░ harder than ever just ░░░░░░░░ get by let alone ░░░░░░░░ ahead and that s ░░░░░░░░ true since long before ░░░░░░░░ recession hit We ve ░░░░░░░░ to reverse those trends ░░░░░░░░ ve got to build ░░░░░░░░ economy that works for ░░░░░░░░ not just a fortunate ░░░░░░░░ And the opportunity agenda ░░░░░░░░ laid out last week ░░░░░░░░ help us do that ░░░░░░░░ s an agenda with ░░░░░░░░ parts Number one more ░░░░░░░░ jobs Number two training ░░░░░░░░ with the skills to ░░░░░░░░ those jobs Number three ░░░░░░░░ every child access to ░░░░░░░░ world class education And ░░░░░░░░ four making sure that ░░░░░░░░ work pays off with ░░░░░░░░ you can live on ░░░░░░░░ you can retire on ░░░░░░░░ health insurance that s ░░░░░░░░ when you need it ░░░░░░░░ want to work with ░░░░░░░░ on this agenda where ░░░░░░░░ can But in this ░░░░░░░░ of action whenever I ░░░░░░░░ take steps without legislation ░░░░░░░░ expand opportunity for more ░░░░░░░░ families I will I ░░░░░░░░ got a pen and ░░░░░░░░ phone a pen to ░░░░░░░░ executive action and a ░░░░░░░░ to rally citizens and ░░░░░░░░ leaders who are eager ░░░░░░░░ create new jobs and ░░░░░░░░ opportunities And we ve ░░░░░░░░ begun In Wisconsin I ░░░░░░░░ an across the board ░░░░░░░░ of our training programs ░░░░░░░░ train folks with the ░░░░░░░░ employers need and match ░░░░░░░░ to good jobs that ░░░░░░░░ to be filled right ░░░░░░░░ In Pittsburgh I directed ░░░░░░░░ Treasury to create my ░░░░░░░░ a new way for ░░░░░░░░ Americans even if you ░░░░░░░░ not wealthy to start ░░░░░░░░ own retirement savings In ░░░░░░░░ I rallied the leaders ░░░░░░░░ some of America s ░░░░░░░░ tech companies to help ░░░░░░░░ make sure all our ░░░░░░░░ have access to high ░░░░░░░░ internet and up to ░░░░░░░░ technology to help them ░░░░░░░░ the skills they need ░░░░░░░░ the new economy And ░░░░░░░░ the White House I ░░░░░░░░ together business leaders who ░░░░░░░░ committed to helping more ░░░░░░░░ Americans find work no ░░░░░░░░ how long they ve ░░░░░░░░ looking And I directed ░░░░░░░░ federal government to make ░░░░░░░░ decisions the same way ░░░░░░░░ on whether applicants can ░░░░░░░░ the job not when ░░░░░░░░ last had a job ░░░░░░░░ when you hear me ░░░░░░░░ about using my pen ░░░░░░░░ my phone to make ░░░░░░░░ difference for middle class ░░░░░░░░ and those working to ░░░░░░░░ into the middle class ░░░░░░░░ s what I mean ░░░░░░░░ I m going to ░░░░░░░░ asking students and parents ░░░░░░░░ business leaders to help ░░░░░░░░ there are millions of ░░░░░░░░ outside Washington who are ░░░░░░░░ of stale political arguments ░░░░░░░░ to move this country ░░░░░░░░ and determined to restore ░░░░░░░░ founding vision of opportunity ░░░░░░░░ all And so am ░░░░░░░░ Thanks have a great ░░░░░░░░ and to our Olympians ░░░░░░░░ Sochi, go Team USA!
