side of this ░░░░░░░░ majority who support masks ░░░░░░░░ and yes students some ░░░░░░░░ whom are just fed ░░░░░░░░ with the aggressive minority ░░░░░░░░ in point here in ░░░░░░░░ photo which has gone ░░░░░░░░ you can see a ░░░░░░░░ year old student giving ░░░░░░░░ one fingered salute to ░░░░░░░░ mask protesters outside her ░░░░░░░░ And that saluter there ░░░░░░░░ we should say Fiona ░░░░░░░░ me now along with ░░░░░░░░ finger and her mother ░░░░░░░░ Downey Thank you both ░░░░░░░░ much for being with ░░░░░░░░ this morning Fiona why ░░░░░░░░ t you just walk ░░░░░░░░ through what happened on ░░░░░░░░ bus on the way ░░░░░░░░ school that day FIONA ░░░░░░░░ So the protesters are ░░░░░░░░ every single day And ░░░░░░░░ come over and they ░░░░░░░░ hold up their signs ░░░░░░░░ for me I was ░░░░░░░░ fed up And I ░░░░░░░░ filled with anger And ░░░░░░░░ just decided to give ░░░░░░░░ the finger because I ░░░░░░░░ it was the best ░░░░░░░░ I could do BERMAN ░░░░░░░░ when you drive past ░░░░░░░░ to get into your ░░░░░░░░ what are the signs ░░░░░░░░ and how does it ░░░░░░░░ you feel FIONA They ░░░░░░░░ like stuff like masks ░░░░░░░░ t the cure I ░░░░░░░░ t remember the rest ░░░░░░░░ it makes me really ░░░░░░░░ I don t know ░░░░░░░░ makes everyone else angry ░░░░░░░░ we re all just ░░░░░░░░ with it BERMAN You ░░░░░░░░ for you what do ░░░░░░░░ want in terms of ░░░░░░░░ at school FIONA I ░░░░░░░░ everyone just to be ░░░░░░░░ And it s hard ░░░░░░░░ I was on hybrid ░░░░░░░░ for so long it ░░░░░░░░ very stressful and very ░░░░░░░░ But I hope that ░░░░░░░░ can say in school ░░░░░░░░ You delivered a clear ░░░░░░░░ to them Do you ░░░░░░░░ they saw the message ░░░░░░░░ delivered FIONA No because ░░░░░░░░ came to school yesterday ░░░░░░░░ I hope that things ░░░░░░░░ change BERMAN So Megan ░░░░░░░░ got a text from ░░░░░░░░ basically saying um what ░░░░░░░░ the text say DOWNEY ░░░░░░░░ She said mom I ░░░░░░░░ off the anti maskers ░░░░░░░░ they flipped me off ░░░░░░░░ And you know honestly ░░░░░░░░ understood her frustration and ░░░░░░░░ anger It s been ░░░░░░░░ months of this pandemic ░░░░░░░░ has been hard on ░░░░░░░░ of us in different ░░░░░░░░ but especially I think ░░░░░░░░ adolescents And we all ░░░░░░░░ want to get back ░░░░░░░░ normal And we re ░░░░░░░░ going to be able ░░░░░░░░ do that unless we ░░░░░░░░ put public health first ░░░░░░░░ It s an odd ░░░░░░░░ moment right When your ░░░░░░░░ tells you hey I ░░░░░░░░ I might have been ░░░░░░░░ flipping the bird to ░░░░░░░░ bunch of protesters here ░░░░░░░░ know what was your ░░░░░░░░ DOWNEY Yeah Well we ░░░░░░░░ add that Fiona had ░░░░░░░░ idea there were cameras ░░░░░░░░ and I had no ░░░░░░░░ either So we did ░░░░░░░░ know this was in ░░░░░░░░ news until the next ░░░░░░░░ or that it was ░░░░░░░░ captured until the next ░░░░░░░░ But my initial reaction ░░░░░░░░ they think they re ░░░░░░░░ you And then she ░░░░░░░░ to class and the ░░░░░░░░ was really uneventful until ░░░░░░░░ next morning when it ░░░░░░░░ to go viral BERMAN ░░░░░░░░ you have any issue ░░░░░░░░ Fiona s chosen means ░░░░░░░░ expression DOWNEY You know ░░░░░░░░ else was she supposed ░░░░░░░░ do in that moment Fiona where does this ░░░░░░░░ from here do you ░░░░░░░░ in the coming days ░░░░░░░░ these people you re ░░░░░░░░ Vermont I should note ░░░░░░░░ can t be out ░░░░░░░░ all winter It s ░░░░░░░░ to get cold FIONA ░░░░░░░░ have no idea I ░░░░░░░░ hope that the school ░░░░░░░░ do something about it ░░░░░░░░ mean they re right ░░░░░░░░ of school property so ░░░░░░░░ s nothing that I ░░░░░░░░ really do just besides ░░░░░░░░ the message to everyone ░░░░░░░░ to wear their masks ░░░░░░░░ Well you spread a ░░░░░░░░ And I think they ░░░░░░░░ it and a lot ░░░░░░░░ people are seeing it ░░░░░░░░ I understand your frustration ░░░░░░░░ it is a minority ░░░░░░░░ vocal minority aggressive protesting ░░░░░░░░ and sometimes you have ░░░░░░░░ deliver a message back ░░░░░░░░ you both for being ░░░░░░░░ us this morning Thank ░░░░░░░░ FIONA Of course thank ░░░░░░░░ DOWNEY Thank you KEILAR ░░░░░░░░ and her finger I ░░░░░░░░ t she clearly did ░░░░░░░░ expect to be in ░░░░░░░░ situation but here she she ░░░░░░░░ to do At a ░░░░░░░░ point what else are ░░░░░░░░ supposed to do The ░░░░░░░░ drives past them every ░░░░░░░░ day and Fiona and ░░░░░░░░ friends want to be ░░░░░░░░ and have this school ░░░░░░░░ open KEILAR Look none ░░░░░░░░ us want our kids ░░░░░░░░ people off On occasion ░░░░░░░░ there s an exception ░░░░░░░░ the rule BERMAN Be ░░░░░░░░ Choose the right make ░░░░░░░░ choices is
