Nicole Saphier: ‘Hundreds of Thousands of Americans Have Died from the Opioid Crisis’

‘It’s not a surprise President-Elect Trump is coming out talking about the opioid crisis’

EXCERPT:

SAPHIER: “So, first of all, we have to remember, hundreds of thousands of Americans have died from the opioid crisis. It’s actually caused the American male to decrease life expectancy by a year. The CDC has reported in 2023 alone for the first time, 11 months straight, we are seeing a decline in opioid-related deaths. You know, there’s a lot of things that have contributed to this. It’s the widely use of naloxone. It’s also public education campaigns. It’s also been harder on the cartels and China in terms of the precursor for these medications. Now, we — it’s not a surprise that president — President-Elect Trump is coming out talking about the opioid crisis because if you go back to 2017, he declared the opioid crisis a public health emergency. He has always taken this very seriously.”
