‘Dumbest Question I’ve Ever Heard!’: Keith Boykin Goes Off on Jeff Lord over Trump Tax Returns (Mediaite)

CNN political commentators Keith Boykin and Jeff Lord battled tonight over President Trump not releasing his tax returns.

Boykin brought up Trump’s past excuses and how he “lied repeatedly about his willingness to release his tax returns.”

Lord brought up how presidents decades ago didn’t release tax returns either, to which Boykin responded, “Jeffrey, this is 2017! Why are you going back to Woodrow Wilson? That has no relevance to what we’re talking about today!”

Lord asked Boykin, “Did you release your tax returns when you worked in the White House?”

Boykin shot back, “Am I President of the United States, Jeffrey? That’s the dumbest question I’ve ever heard anybody ask on television! You call yourself a political commentator, you ask a stupid question like that, Jeffrey?”

A little later on they clashed again when Lord said that maybe every “person of influence” should release their tax returns, including TV anchors and newspaper publishers. Boykin accused him of throwing out “red herrings.”
