GOLDBERG: "If I were Laura Ingraham, who very much was committed to what Donald Trump campaigned on, this is a very hard thing to square with the Donald Trump that we saw for years, even before the campaign trail but certainly over the 2016 campaign. But I also think — and I read about this in the 'L. A. Times' today, I think Donald Trump is making a smart decision by basically not explaining it any further. Everyone wants him to lock in and commit to one foreign policy doctrine or another. He has been very clear that he doesn't get locked into anything. So let the message be sent, let everyone hear the right message, which is you can't use chemical weapons, that America is back asserting leadership in the world, and the rest of Donald Trump's foreign policy will be borne out by when he does stuff."
