Could Rand Paul replace Paul Ryan as President Trump’s go-to ObamaCare repeal guy?

Today’s golf outing has people talking.

Trump invited Paul to hit the links with him at Trump National Golf Club.

After the foursome wrapped up their outing, Paul gave reporters a very upbeat statement about what transpired.

"We had a great day with the president today," Paul said. "We did talk about some health care reform. I think the sides are closer and closer together and I remain very optimistic that we will get ObamaCare repealed."

This prompted CNN to ask, "Could Paul end up being the hero on health care here?"

The Republican strategist, Alice Stewart, said Trump should have been working with people like Paul from the get-go.

"It was clear right after the initial failure of ACA there's frustration in the White House and encouraged by the fact they're working for a plan "B" and wanting to get it right," Stewart said. "They clearly need to work with folks like Rand Paul and moderates in the house, as well as the more conservatives in the House Freedom Caucus and I think this is a great step today to moving forward and moving the ball down the field."
