Nikki Haley: Trump ‘Would Never Knowingly Lie’

‘He’s trying to give them the real story of what he knows’

Nikki Haley: Trump ‘Would Never Knowingly Lie’ (Mediaite)

During her CNN interview with Erin Burnett tonight, U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley addressed her past criticisms of President Trump. She scolded him for his tone during the campaign, but told Burnett tonight that leaving tone aside, actions are what’s most important.

Burnett asked Haley if Trump should stop tweeting. Haley said no one is going to stop the president from tweeting, calling it “another way to get the news out.”

She said this will happen “until the relationship’s mended” between Trump and the press.

Burnett asked if Trump “understands the significance” of his tweets. She cited the wiretapping tweets that may end up being a lie if there’s no evidence to support it.

Haley responded, “He would never knowingly lie. I mean, I can honestly say that’s not his intention. What I do think he’s trying to do is notify the public of what’s going on. He’s trying to give them the real story of what he knows.”
