U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis is introduced by German Defense Minister Ursula Von der Leyen at the 53rd Munich Security Conference.
Mattis assured alliance members that Trump has "thrown his full support behind NATO."
"He too espouses NATO's need to adapt to today's strategic situation for it to remain credible, capable and relevant," Mattis said on February 17 in Munich.
