Gardner: I Don’t Think Trump’s ‘Been Lukewarm’ to the Idea of Russia Hacking the Election

GARDNER: "I don’t think he has been lukewarm. If you look at what Reince Priebus and Donald Trump has said, his response is to create a 90-day task force to prevent this from happening again. I have advocated a permanent community on cybersecurity. A whole of cybersecurity policy that can address Russia, Iran, North Korea. The Russian revelations, it is not new. It is something we learned about over the summer. The president didn’t respond in a forceful manner just like he didn’t respond to Ukraine in a forceful manner, just like he didn’t respond to Syria in a forceful manner. He didn’t respond to North Korea in a forceful manner or Iranian cyber attacks against infrastructure in this country. We ought to have a policy set in place that can be overseen by a permanent committee on cybersecurity to make sure we are addressing it all."
