Spicer on Whether Nuke Tweet Is an Escalation: ‘Absolutely Not’

‘He’s not going to sit back and let another country act’

CAMEROTA: "So you don’t see these words as any sort of escalation?"
SPICER: "No, absolutely not. They’re — it is him articulating how he is going to be as president."
CAMEROTA: "You know, we’ve been cautioned and warned through the election not to take him literally. Remember all that? That we in the media took him too literally. When are we supposed to take him literally?"
SPICER: "I don’t know that I would agree with that. I think you do take him literally."
CAMEROTA: "So we take — every tweet he sends out, we are supposed to take those words literally?"
SPICER: "Sure."
CAMEROTA: "'Let there be an arms race' is literal?"
SPICER: "That was a private conversation. I was not privy to that. But I think the point being is that he is somebody who gets things done."
