Rep. Collins: Human Activity Has an Impact on the Environment, But It’s Not the Top Priority of the U.S.

‘We are only four percent of the population ... we don’t control the other 96’

EXCERPT:

COLLINS: "I think all of us, including Scott Pruitt would say that human activity certainly has an impact on the environment and whether you want to use the word climate change, but climate and the environment -- but, again, it's the extreme that the EPA is going to in the past that's -- that's impacted our basically standard of living in this country that has to be rolled back. You've just said you've got to put things first. Don't go to the extremes. We all know human activity has an impact on the environment and hence on climate. But it's not the top priority of the United States. We have less than 4 percent of the population of the world even live in our country and we don't control the other 96 percent. If we want to talk about the real issues it's China and it's India and it's Mexico and others."
