Seattle Councilmember Kshama Sawant Calls for Protesters to Shut Down Trump’s Inauguration

Sawant is encouraging demonstrators to shut down Trump’s inauguration in January

The socialist Seattle council member who spearheaded the push to raise the city’s minimum wage to $15/hour is now encouraging anti-Trump protesters to “shut down” the inauguration. 

Kshama Sawant warned this week that protests against Trump are only the beginning, KIRO 7 reported

"On inauguration day, we are going to shut it down!" Sawant told a crowd of activists, spurring a "Shut it Down!" chant. 

A protest planned for the inauguration is being advertised on Facebook, where more than 62,000 have expressed interest. To date, 17,000 have indicated they'll participate in the #NotMyPresident protest.
