McCaskill on Comey’s Action: ‘There May Be Some Hubris Involved’

‘I think one of the things he did in the summer that people in the Justice Department were scratching their heads about was the press conference where he opined about how he thought Hillary Clinton had handled things badly’

GEIST: "If this is as clear cut as you seem to believe it is, and many people who have come on the show this morning believe it is, why do you think James Comey who in July every Democrat thought was smart and a great guy and ethical, why do you think he did this? What would be his motivation because he knew the letter to Congress was going to be leaked immediately and this was going to become a huge story that could impact the campaign? Why did he do it?"
MCCASKILL: "There may be some hubris involved here. One of the things he did in the summer that people in the Justice Department were scratching their heads about was the press conference where he opined about how he thought Hillary Clinton had handled things badly. That’s not typically what the head of a law enforcement agency does."
