The baller-in-chief didn’t have the hot hand Monday.

President Obama took to the White House basketball court as part of the Easter Egg Roll festivities, only to come up short. And long. And off to the side.

In all, Obama, shooting in front of  young children and several Washington Wizards players, including star guard John Wall, bricked his first 14 shots before finally sinking one. His final line – 2 for 22, according to reporters who were watching.

The official pool report filed on the event had this description of Obama’s shots: “Miss. Miss. Off the rim. Miss. Miss. Off the rim. Airball. He moved closer to the net. But time and again, he missed. Of 22 shots POTUS took, he made two.”

Obama, 51, who is a regular pickup-game player and even played on Election Day in November, eventually handed the ball to a young boy, who promptly made a layup.

“He couldn’t make one. I had to help him out,” said Kahron Campbell, 10, of Landover, Md.

At the daily White House briefing, press secretary Jay Carney took some tough questions about the president’s poor performance.

“The president doesn’t get to practice probably as much as he’d like to,” Carney said. “Having done a few shoot-arounds with him, he’s a pretty good shot.”
