President Obama's older, Muslim brother, Malik, is voting for Donald Trump. And not only that, he supports Trump's proposed ban on Muslim immigration to the United States.

The Kenya-based brother appeared Wednesday morning on ITV's "Good Morning Britain," where he was interviewed by an incredulous Piers Morgan.

Obama said he made his decision after watching FBI Director James Comey suggest Hillary Clinton should not be indicted.

"I have been following the story and it was clear that she had been ... She had set up this email server, private email server, and had been communicating within it, and there was classified information going back and forth," Obama explained. "I said to myself, ‘she is a custodian of classified information and she is the Secretary of State — what if it was somebody else, one of her employees? Would she approve, would that be allowed?’ I said to myself, ‘That is not right.’ There must be something going on."

Obama also attacked his younger brother for failing to deliver on all the promises he made during his 2008 campaign.

"The other thing is that looking back, 20/20 is hindsight, just looking back, all his promises ... You know, my brother became president and made a lot of promises, and he was riding on the promise of hope," Obama said. "We had a lot of excitement and we thought he would do a lot of things. If you look at the Middle East right now, it is a mess. People being killed all over the place. San Bernardino, over in Florida and France and Brussels and the situation in Iraq.”

ITV's Susanna Reid asked specifically how, as a Muslim, he reacts to Trump's proposed Muslim ban as a solution for all of this violence.

“It is just as difficult even now, with security checks and all of that. It is difficult for everybody," Obama replied. "I think that in the United States, whichever country you name it, has rules and regulations. You don’t just stop people. You look at somebody and if you look like somebody who is dangerous, they act accordingly. I don’t think it is a blanket thing."

"It was a reaction to the events happening right now," he continued. "Yes, I am a Muslim, but I do not condone the shooting and killing of innocent people in the name of Islam. So it makes it difficult for me and everybody else, including law-abiding Muslims. I don’t know if it is something, I would say that here in Kenya, we are closing down the Debab refugee camp because of the violence and shootings and killings in Kenya. Anybody in their right mind would react accordingly and put up whatever measures that are necessary.”

Obama also said it's difficult for him to even arrange a meeting with his brother. "My brother has got this attitude," he explained, "'I'm the president of the United States ..."

Asked how his brother might react to this interview, Obama explained how the Republican Party "is the party of Lincoln" and "freed the black man" and that it was actually George W. Bush who came to the assistance of his aunt when she was facing legal trouble.
