You can't name a single society in the history of the world outside a monastery or two that has eliminated crime and violence. That was blanket statement. There were ten ways in which that could have been softened and made more plausible if nothing else, and he never said how. But he did say I'm the one. This was a speech of a man offering strong leadership. That's been his theme from the very beginning. Strength versus weakness, decisiveness, et cetera. I'm strong, determined, and smart, and I will do it. How you get to that from the elimination of crime, he didn't let on."
