Fmr. Bush A.G Alberto Gonzales: Redacted 911 Transcripts ‘Embarrassing’ for the DOJ

‘It’s perfectly legitimate to redact information if impacts the integrity of investigation’

GONZALES: "You know, typically at the beginning of an administration a protocol's put in place with respect to limiting contact between the White House and the Department of Justice. And as a general matter the White House would not be involved in -- in commenting on or focusing on or reviewing what the Department of Justice is going to say about an investigation. You know, the White House has said that they had no part in this decision, so I take them at their word. You know, from my perspective I think this has really been a little bit embarrassing for the department."
