Gun Shop Claims It Refused Service, Called Authorities on Orlando Gunman Over ‘Suspicious’ Behavior (Mediaite)

Employees of a gun store in Florida say that they refused to do business with the Orlando shooting gunman when he displayed strange behavior when he tried to buy equipment several weeks ago.

Robert Abell, co-owner of Lotus Gunworks in Jensen Beach, told the Wall Street Journal that Omar Mateen came into his store last month for heavy-duty body armor and a bulk purchase of ammunition. While Mateen was in the store, Abell said, he kept texting on his phone and taking calls in an Arabic-sounding language that unnerved Abell’s salespeople.

“[He] just seemed very odd,” Abell said. “The questions he was asking were not the normal questions a normal person would be asking.”
