Blumenthal: Judge Ruling Sandy Hook Families Can Sue Gun Makers a ‘Good Step’

The reason I have introduced legislation to eliminate that immunity, I am the introducer of that legislation and we have cosponsors and including my colleagues from Connecticut is that the judge's ruling is as good step. But, it will not give many others the kind of day in court they need and deserve. This is a unique immunity for this one industry is entirely undeserved and unfounded. It is unfair and I believe has to be reversed ultimately. The Sandy Hook families may have their day in court. I hope they will."
