John Lewis Takes a Swipe at Bernie Sanders’ Civil Rights Record: ‘I Never Saw Him’ (Mediaite)

The Congressional Black Caucus’ PAC officially endorsed Hillary Clinton today, and during a press conference earlier, one of the CBC’s most iconic members took a swipe at Bernie Sanders on civil rights.

Congressman John Lewis is an icon of the civil rights era who walked with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Selma, and he apparently believes that Sanders has been absent on matters of civil rights.

Lewis said, “I never saw him. I never met him.” He pointed to all his years of activism and protest, and while he never saw Sanders, Lewis did say he met with the Clintons.
