Sanders Slams Clinton: ‘As Candidates We Need to Stand on Our Own Two Feet’

BRZEZINSKI: “Senator Sanders took on that strategy yesterday before doubling down on a line of attack that he used during the debate.”

UNKNOWN REPORTER: “Senator, do you think secretary Clinton hid behind President Obama last night?”
SANDERS: “Well, you know — (Laughter) — you might say that. Look, at the end of the day how much our improved economy today is compared to when Bush left office when we were losing 800,000 jobs a month. The only way you don’t see that is when you’re very partisan. So, we’ve made some good progress. But I think what we have got to do as candidate is stand on our own two feet.(...) What I have tried to do from day one is to run an issue oriented campaign and the reason you run is to show the differences of opinion you have with your opponents, Hillary Clinton and I have differences of opinion. It’s called democracy. But I’m not into personal attacks and mean-spirited acts.”
UNKNOWN REPORTER: “Last night you brought up her [indecipherable]. You don’t feel like that’s a personal attack?“
SANDERS: “No. I think it is a fact, it’s a fact. Anyone disagree with [indecipherable]? She’s received $600,000 in one year as speaking fees from Goldman Sachs. If that’s not true, I will apologize. It’s true.”
