Christie Continues to Deny He Supported Sotomayor and Planned Parenthood

‘Whatever you read in The Star Ledger about me just take the opposite’

GEIST: “Governor Christie, it’s Willie, good to see you this morning.”
CHRISTIE: “Hey, Willie.”
GEIST: “I want to clear up two things once and for all that were raised last night on the debate stage and you kind shot them down and moved on. But let’s just say this, has Governor Chris Christie or any form of Chris Christie ever written a check to Planned Parenthood?”
CHRISTIE: “No, not either me or any form of me. I don’t even know what that means Willie, but I’ll deny it for the form of me too.” (Laughter) [crosstalk]
GEIST: “Well I said had Governor Chris Christie and you [indecipherable] that you are not the governor.”
BRZEZINSKI: “What are you talking about?”
GEIST: “So, You’ve never written a check to Planned Parenthood?”
CHRISTIE: “Yeah. No, no, not as a private citizen, governor, or anything in between.”
GEIST: “That’s what I meant.”
CHRISTIE: “Yeah.”
GEIST: “OK. And did you support Sonia Sotomayor because you were quoted in the ‘Star-Ledger’ as saying you are confident that she’s qualified.“
CHRISTIE: “You guys should really shred the ‘Star-Ledger’ for now on. Because everything they write of me — if you remember the old ‘Seinfeld’ where [indecipherable] and everything the opposite. Whatever you read in the ‘Star-Ledger’ about me you should just take the opposite. Because that’s what there all about. Now, what I said about Sonia Sotomayor was that she deserved an up or down vote, but that she was not the type of justice that I would select if I were a president. That’s hardly supporting someone. That’s just saying someone should get an up or down vote.”
