Ryan: ‘Obama Degrades the Presidency’ By Discussing Election in SOTU (Mediaite)         

House Speaker Paul Ryan didn’t bother hiding his disdain for President Barack Obama‘s State of the Union address and yesterday, he shed a little more light on what, exactly, bothered him so much.

While talking to USA Today, Ryan said that when Obama made comments that were clearly directed at GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, he “[degraded] the presidency.”

“That’s not what presidents ought to be talking about in State of the Union addresses,” he explained. Although he agrees with Obama on the issue at hand, which is Trump’s proposed Muslim ban, he felt that the SOTU was no place to bring it up.
