W.H. Refuses to Say if Obama Will Put Forth Immigration Reform in His Last Year

‘There are still business that we need to get done as a country’

DÍAZ-BALART: “And, Jen, finally, immigration. It’s something that continues to be discussed not only on the campaign trail but really throughout the country and throughout the world. Is there something the president, you think is going to be tackling specifically, putting forward some way that there can be movement on immigration reform?”

PSAKI: “Well, immigration reform remains an issue that the president is personally committed to. You are familiar with how much he has done over the last seven years. He will certainly talk about immigration reform as something that we need to get done, just as we need to do more on gun reform, we need to do more on equal pay and paid leave. There’s still business that we need to get done as a country. But he’s going to focus this more on some of the core questions that we need to address, what are the choices we need to make now to set ourselves on a strong path in the next five to ten years.”
