McCain on Iran: ‘They’ve Got Us’

‘A couple weeks ago they told Congress there was going to be sanctions and then they decided not to do it because the Iranians said it would break the Iranian nuclear deal’

SCARBOROUGH: “What will historians say of this president? Obviously George W. Bush made many mistakes as it pertained to Iraq and he will be judged harshly by historians for that. How can anything on the foreign policy stage other than Syria not be Barack Obama’s legacy — twenty, thirty, forty years from now? And how do we turn that around?”

MCCAIN: “Well I think the Iranian deal will also be a very big part of his legacy and I know he’s going to taught that tonight. But, when the Iranians are firing missiles within 1,500 yard of the U.S. aircraft carrier, when they’re violating U.N. Security Council resolutions on missile tests — as you well know, a couple weeks ago they told Congress there was going to be sanctions and then they decided not to do it, because the Iranians said it would break the Iranian nuclear deal — they’ve got us. I mean, it’s really remarkable. And so, I think his legacy will be that as well. And look, he inspired millions of Americans to be involved in a political process. He still has a strong base of affection and support in parts of America. He is an articulate individual who — who I think has done a good job in that respect and so I’ll leave it up to historians.”
