Krauthammer: Obama Didn’t Lack Details on Bergdahl; He Lacked Discernment

‘I think the loss is the fact that Obama actually thought that he deserved a victory lap when he announced the release and stood up in the Rose Garden with the parents of this man who could turn out to be a traitor’

BREAM: “At the end of the day, Charles, is this a win or a loss for the Obama Administration?”
OBAMA: “I think the loss is the fact that Obama actually thought that he deserved a victory lap when he announced the release and stood up in the Rose Garden with the parents of this man who could turn out to be a traitor. At least as determined by court-martial. It just tells you what Obama is thinking. It’s not just the illegality of the act. It’s the fact that he didn’t recognize what he had essentially done and then he allows his National Security Adviser to go out there and say he served with honor and distinction. It’s simply staggering. And if you’re a soldier serving under this commander-in-chief you have to wonder about what kind of command he’s exercising.”
BREAM: “Do we have to assume that he didn’t have all the details at the time of the Rose Garden announcement?”
FOURNIER: “Of course he didn’t have all the details. Which is why you don’t go out there and declare victory.
WILL: “Exactly. If the old axiom I’ve said it before here — don’t speak unless you can improve the silence.”
KRAUTHAMMER: “I’m not sure he was lacking the details. I think he lacked the discernment.”
