Sec. Yellen: ‘Premature To Be Making Forecasts About What [UAW Strike] Means for the Economy’

‘We want the two sides come to a win-win agreement’

EXCERPT:

YELLEN: “I think it's premature to be making forecasts about what it means for the economy. It would depend very much on how long the strike lasts, and exactly who's affected by it. But the important point, I think, is that the two sides need to narrow their disagreements and to work for a win-win, a contract, that's good, good for the workers and for the industry as well. These -- the industry has been doing well, and the president wants to see the workers come out ahead as well.”
