Fox News: ISIS Making Perfect Fake Passports for a Few Hundred Dollars

Doocy: ‘There are two passport offices in the Islamic state where militants are believed to be making documents using a real Syrian passport machine and real Syrian passport paper’

BAIER: "A chilling note now tonight, about just how vulnerable the U.S. And other countries might be, to infiltration by terrorists, it has to do with the bad guys having easy access to one of the most difficult to obtain documents. Correspondent Peter Doocy is here to fill us in. Good evening."
DOOCY: "There are two passport offices in the Islamic state where militants are believed to be making documents using a real Syrian passport machine and real Syrian passport paper. And that is a real problem for American authorities. Because a new homeland security investigations report finds these perfect fakes may have already been used by Syrians to enter the United States. A danger amplified since these are the kind of documents, two of the Paris terrorists were carrying on the way to the deadly Friday the 13th attacks. And because of how cheap the forgeries are. The going rate is reportedly just a few hundred dollars. Customs and border protection officers here in the states are trained to find fake documents collecting about 76 every day. There’s a way to spot an ISIS-issued passport. ABC News reports that the designator number reveals which part of Syria it comes from. So it’s possible to look at that number and see if it came from an Islamic state controlled part of the country. It’s important to remember that a Syrian passport alone doesn’t get someone into the U.S., they need a Visa, too. But that’s something San Bernardino terrorists, Tashfeen Malik, easily obtained. And today the State Department expressed concern."

KIRBY: "We have been aware of reports not just in the press. That they may have obtained this capability. Obviously it’s something that we take seriously.

DOOCY: "ISIS didn’t just start printing passports. They’ve been able to do it for more than a year. That’s a year that a fighter could have used one to sneak into the states. But there’s no specific evidence that anyone has, yet. Brett?"
BAIER: "Peter, thank you."
