Clinton Calls for Criminal Justice Reforms: ‘End Era of Mass Incarceration’

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton called for criminal justice reforms and an end to ‘the era of mass incarceration’

"We must reform our criminal justice system. There can't be and there too often is stacked against those with the least power. There is something profoundly wrong when African-American men are still more likely to be stopped and searched by the police, charged with crimes and sentenced to longer prison terms for doing the same things as white men.

There is something profoundly wrong when a third of all black men face the prospect of prison during their life times. Right now estimated 1.5 million black men are missing from their families and communities because of incarceration and premature death. And too many black families mourn the loss of a child. ...

It's time to change the approach and end era of mass incarceration in America." (Applause)
