Rep. Dusty Johnson: We ‘Are Not Going to Agree to Anything’ Without Spending Cuts

‘We’re at an inflection point’

EXCERPT:

JOHNSON: "Well, I don't think anybody has ever been in any negotiation where they got everything they want. But Republicans are not going to agree to anything that doesn't fundamentally change how we spend money in Washington, D.C.. We're at an inflection point, things are not only as bad as they were 20 or 30 years ago -- we talked about the debt then too, but they're much worse now. In the last 10 years, we spent $3 trillion just on interest on the debt without any new programs. We're not going to spend $3 trillion on interest on the debt in the next 10 years, it will be $10 trillion.”
