Krauthammer on Jindal: ‘He’s a Wonk to the Very End [But] It’s the Year of Bombast and Show’

‘He’s young, he’ll be back’

We’ll begin with the panel and turn to the other pressing issues of the day. Let’s bring in Robert Costa, national political reporter for the “Washington Post.” Ron Fournier, senior political columnist for the “National journal” and syndicated columnist, Charles krauthammer. I knew before, he had the announcement to make. It was interesting to see his campaign, what about Bobby jindal and how the race has run?
>> Ron and I had a chance to talk to him after he finished your interview. And you sense this is a youthful governor, a sitting governor. Someone in office, leaving the race, I think jindal has a future. He’s tried to Ford some policy proposals, he’s a wonk, but never caught on.
>> Ron?
>> He’s a wonk in an angry electorate year. This is one of those times when there was news breaking beneath my nose. An old wire guy, you beat me, congratulations, I did ask his wife, as to how the kids doing with all this. And she said it’s funny, I just got out of the — the governor said, did you get hold of them? She said yeah I got hold two of out of the three. If I had a brain in my head, I must have realized there musting something going on if you are trying to get ahold of the kids.
>> “Special report” — where politicians go to die.
>> Wow, anyone’s welcome any time they want to get out of the race, come here.
>> I could announce my retirement.
>> That’s next. It is obvious, he is wonk, he’s a wonk. He was wonk to the very end. And this is not that year. It’s the year of bombast and show. But he’s yuck, he’ll be back.
