Abdul-Jabbar: Trump Should ‘Treat Everybody Equally and He Can’t Seem To Do That’

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar says Donald Trump should ‘treat everybody equally and he can’t seem to do that’

BEHAR: "Kareem, you wrote an article in The Washington Post which I happen to have read. Not very flattering to Trump. And there was a quote: 'This is the difference between Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders.' Trump was not happy with it and he wrote you this letter, which we will read, and you can respond."

ABDUL-JABBAR: "OK."

BEHAR: "Kareem, now I know why the press always treated you so badly', says Donald. 'They couldn't stand you. The fact is that you don't have a clue about life and what has to be done to make America great again. Best wishes, Donald Trump.' (Laughter) So, what was your response to his response?"

ABDUL-JABBAR: "I--I felt that what he had to say proved my point. The fact that he wanted to be so rude --(Applause)--There was a gentleman that did the Hispanic broadcast--"

BEHAR: "Yes. On Telemundo."

ABDUL-JABBAR: "And they treated him like a crap. Why? Because he was from Telemundo. I thought that was, that should not be happening. They should treat everybody equally. And he can't seem to do that."
BEHAR: "And he doesn't like it. If you say anything negative he goes right back at you."

ABDUL-JABBAR: "Yes, goes back right at you.”
