Tim Scott: Biden Is the Only One Responsible for the Increases We See at Our Gas Pumps

‘We know what we are seeing now is once again pivoting away from a responsibility that should be borne on his shoulders’

EXCERPT:

SCOTT: “When President Obama says a gas tax holiday is a gimmick, Republicans and Democrats agree. When we know that the first day President Biden was in office, he shut down the Keystone XL pipeline that would provide 700,000 barrels of oil every single day to Americans, we know that what he is saying now is, once again, pivoting away from the responsibility that should be borne on his shoulders. When we lack certainty and predictability, our folks in the energy sector, they can’t go excavate energy. There is too much inconsistency, instability and insecurities to provide Americans with American energy. President Biden could send confidence to the market simply by saying, 'I’m signing the XL pipeline, the Keystone XL pipeline. I’m going to allow the permits to happen not for the short run, but for the long-term perspective.' He and only he is responsible for the challenges that we see at the pump. And remember, Brian, a 60% increase in gas prices by last Thanksgiving, which means before Putin invaded Ukraine, our prices were already up more than 60% around the country."
