Ari Fleischer: Psaki Should’ve Showed ‘Good Manners and Restraint’ By Refraining to Slam Peter Doocy

‘Here you don’t hear that similar bond coming from the rest of the media because it’s Fox’

EXCERPT:

FLEISCHER: “You know, Howard, the problem here is if Donald Trump or people in the Trump Administration were saying this about people at CBS, NBC, ABC, they would all lock arms, immediately denounce it and tell the White House these are threats to journalists and risk death threats and that the White House needs to do something about it, and they’d be a unified team. Here you don’t hear that similar bond coming from the rest of the media because it’s Fox. As if, yes, it’s appropriate to say these type of epithets against Fox, against Peter Doocy. And you can’t do it that way. Now, look, there’s one thing about saying it in an off-camera, off-mic way where you get caught saying things that everybody in government sometimes thinks about the media. Certainly, I worked for Dick Cheney and George Bush when Dick Cheney got caught on a hot mic referring to a reporter at 'The New York Times' as a major league swearword. But Jen Psaki said it knowingly and proudly, and she should just have the restraint and the good manners not to do that."
