'We are saving a twenty billion dollar cut to the military'

“I disagree with it. We are saving a $20 billion cut to the military. There are various fees that go into this, and this one percent cut in the cost of living for a military retiree, but at age 62, the COLA goes back to the full COLA. That’s one of the tradeoffs. My preference, I would not have preferred that. But in terms of the overall package, you will find that most in the defense community vigorously support this legislation.”
