Rep. Pressley: ‘Abortion Care Is Health Care’

‘Majority of Americans do not want to see Roe v. Wade overturned’

RUSH EXCERPT:

PRESSLEY: “What I’ll offer is that Congress has to lead in this moment. That’s right, there’s extremism and imbalance. We need to expand the courts, but that’s a conversation for another day. These courts have proven time and time again that they’re not on the side of the people. In fact, they’re against the elephant people. This is settled law. A majority of Americans don’t want to see roe v. wade overturned. Abortion care is health care. This is a constitutional right, and the Supreme Court should have just struck that ruling down. And so if they’re not going to act in alignment with the will of the people and affirm that health care is a constitutional right, and abortion care is health care, then Congress must stand in the gap. My bill with representative Judy Chu, the women’s health protection act passed the house. The Senate needs to take that up quickly and we need to get that to the president’s desk for signature.”
