Scarborough Calls Capitol Rioters a ‘Fascist Crowd’

SCARBOROUGH: “Jonathan Lemire, this is really one of the more damning moments of January 6th, when you have Republicans, even some of the most extreme Trump supporters calling and begging Donald Trump to please call off the rioters. Donald Trump instead was mesmerized and actually cheering on those people that were using American flags to bash in the heads of cops, who were cramming cops’ heads into doors, beating several of them just inches of their life and pummeling them, with them begging for their lives saying that they had children, rubbing excrement, smearing excrement all over the United States Capitol, the people’s house. And while that was going on, while they were chanting 'Hang Mike Pence,' of course you had Donald Trump, after hearing the chants of 'Hang Mike Pence,' after knowing that Mike Pence was chased from the chamber, actually tweeting out after that that Mike Pence was betraying him and betraying the country. This is exactly, by the way, what Jonathan Karl is writing about and what we read other accounts of, like for instance, Ben Sasse saying Trump is watching TV and absolutely loved every second of what he was watching of the riots, this is exactly what Republicans don’t want Americans to see. If there is a conspiracy of silence that they've created around January 6th, it's all to protect Donald Trump and their brand for the heinous reaction this man had to a fascist crowd overtaking the Capitol, brutalizing police officers, committing sedition to try to stop the constitutional process of counting the electoral votes.”
