The image of President Barack Obama taking a picture of himself with two other foreign heads of state during Nelson Mandela’s memorial service in South Africa exploded on the internet on Tuesday. On her program, MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell described that moment as “great” and a “human moment.”

Mitchell described the “selfie” as “great,” but observed that first lady Michelle Obama is “not taking part.” She added that this was a photograph of a “human moment.”
