RUBIN: “Now we've seen that our democracy is really on the line. We really have to move forward. And that was frankly the most influential thing that tipped Nancy Pelosi into supporting an impeachment. If you remember she was kind of pulling the reigns back on a lot of the progressives up to that point. So they have played a very important role. They continue to play an important role because in the midterms, for example in 2018 and going forward, they understand that in these swing districts is people like them that’s going to get elected. AOC is terrific but she’s in a Deep Blue district; she’s not going to bring any seats in.”
