Gov. Greg Abbott: ‘Texas Has Stepped Up Unlike Any Other State’ To Secure the Border

ABBOTT: "Right. So I was recently on the border with Brandon Judd, the president of the Border Patrol Council. And when we had a press conference, he told the public, no governor has done more to secure the border than Governor Greg Abbott of Texas. It's a fact, Texas has stepped up unlike any other state. Dana, I'm about to sign a budget at the end of this session that ends in just a couple of days where the state of Texas is going to be adding more than a billion dollars for Texas to secure the border. Let me tell you what's already happening and then there will be additional things that will happen. We've already deployed the Texas National Guard, as well as 1,000 Texas Department of Public Safety officers. These public safety officers, they were making arrests.”
