Beto: Texans Should Be ‘Double Masking’

‘Wearing a mask is still something we can do, double masks as the CDC recommends is even better’

EXCERPT:

O’ROURKE: "There are now 254 different systems of distribution, because the Governor left it up to them, showing absolutely no leadership. And add all that onto this order, and you will see more people die. And it won't just be anybody, Nicolle, it has disproportionately fallen to African American, Native American, Mexican American, communities of color and the lower-income zip codes, where you see the infections, the hospitalizations, the comorbidities, and the deaths. And that's what you will continue to see going forward. But just because he has surrendered and given up to the virus doesn't mean that we have to. Wearing a mask is still something that we can do, double masking, as the CDC recommends, is even better. Keeping six-foot distance and then joining efforts like ours, where in 17 different Texas cities this weekend, our volunteers will be canvassing in the lowest income zip codes to register people for the vaccine, to make sure that they get inoculated, and we help to save more lives in the face of this absolute lack of leadership from our Governor.”
