Rep. Poe Unloads on Obama’s Selective Enforcement of the Law

‘We are in a situation where the law means different things to different people and it isn’t enforced’

“The president said we are not a banana republic. There are a lot of definitions to banana republic, but my view of a banana republic is a lawless country. We are proud of the fact in the United States we are a country of laws, not people. But yet, we are in a situation where the law means different things to different people, and it isn't enforced. And like many have said here, back home in Texas they just don't understand where the president gets the authority to do some of these things without congressional intervention. I agree with the people that I represent. And they are from both parties. They are not just Republicans. They’re saying, 'Well how can he do that? If I hear that once, I hear it a hundred times when I go home on weekends. How can he do that? And what are you going to do about it, Congressman Pole? I get asked that a lot."
