A lot of this is a result of the way we responded to it and the lack of a coordinated response during the Trump administration, the inability of states and the government officials to understand the magnitude of the problem and institute the right protections. Remember, the CDC delayed issuing a mask suggestion and order. We had keeping restaurants and indoor dining open not fully putting in place other safety measures. And I think, you know, when you compare the United States to other countries, we did much worse. We have 4 percent of the world’s population, and 20 percent of all the Covid deaths and that tells you a lot.”
