VAN HOLLEN: "Well, it’s just outrageous. And what's really outrageous is what you were talking about a little bit earlier, that Kevin McCarthy, the Republican Leader, has been so spineless in refusing to hold his members accountable. And, you know, after he made those comments on the floor, you know, criticizing Donald Trump for having, you know, essentially incited the violent mob, and now he’s headed down to Florida on bended knee, essentially asking Donald Trump for forgiveness. This is a big, big problem that you have the leader of the House Republican Party refusing to confront members who -- who now are -- are on record having openly, you know, called for violent actions including directly against the speaker of the House. I -- I wish we saw Republicans deciding to turn the page and put this really awful era of Donald Trump behind them, but instead they seem to be still captured by -- by -- by Donald Trump."
